James' Background

James felt lost when he first walked through the doors of the Youth Hub. After being made redundant from his role as a Chef at Revolution, the future felt uncertain. But we quickly learn that for James, a setback is just a setup for future opportunities. 

First Steps

James joined our Trailblazer Programme, where we started from square one: identifying barriers and mapping out a Vision Board.

James was incredibly open about the challenges he was facing. Together, we decided to focus on "small steps", finding a path that sparked interest, reduced stress, and provided real-world skills for the future. 

Whilst on our Programme

James took full advantage of our partner network: 

• STEC: He signed up to tackle his driving theory. 

• Inside Connections: He attended their open day, met guest speakers, and felt the spark of motivation return. 

• The CSCS Card: James committed to the course, and we are thrilled to announce that he passed!  

The change in James isn't just about a new certificate. From day one, he has shown total dedication, showing up on time with a motivation that has completely transformed his outlook. 

James recently told us, “Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction. I am truly grateful.” 

Next Steps

We’ve ticked off the short and medium-term goals. Now, James is working towards securing on-site work experience and moving into a permanent, paid role in construction.
