Junaid’s Story

Junaid’s Background

Junaid arrived in the UK in August after the ongoing uncertain situation within his home country of Afghanistan. Junaid had almost finished his high school education just before arriving in the UK but left with no formal qualifications which could be transferred to further his education. His main barrier to employment/education was his level of English. Junaid was looking for support to enable him to start college in September so that he could go on to study medicine at university.

First Steps

Junaid worked closely with Lauren to create an action plan to help him achieve his goals.

This included achieving his functional skills, creating and tailoring a CV and looking for opportunities to enhance his level of English.

Whilst on our programme

Whilst on our programme Junaid has had support with college applications to the City of Liverpool College. He was successful in receiving an offer from the City of Liverpool College for September 22.

Junaid also enrolled on our functional skills programme run by B-Skills. So far he has been able to achieve his Level 1 and will continue to work towards achieving his Level 2 this summer.

More recently, after tailoring his CV and enhancing his interview techniques Junaid has also begun a full time role as a warehousing assistant within B&M Retail.

Next Steps

Junaid now plans on attending the City of Liverpool College in September where he will begin his GSCE Science Pathway.

Junaid will also continue within his role at B&M Retail while continuing his education.
