Nathan's Background

Nathan became a part of the Youth Hub in April 2025 after facing challenges with motivation and job searching. Despite previous work experience at The Marketplace for South Liverpool Homes, securing employment was difficult. With focused guidance, Nathan has started to develop key employability skills and is now feeling more confident about his future prospects.

First Steps

Nathan’s journey really took off when he joined the UKSPF programme. Together, we set clear goals and explore different opportunities to help him boost his employability. We refreshed his CV and, most importantly, worked on building a more positive outlook - helping Nathan move from self-doubt to self-belief as he prepares for what’s next.

Whilst on our Programme

When Nathan first started his journey with us, he was open about the challenges he faced getting into work. Together,  we set clear goals that focused on overcoming barriers and building his confidence in finding the right opportunities.

Step by step, Nathan updated his CV, explored job events, and considered new courses to boost his employability. It wasn’t easy at first; he felt nervous about networking and meeting employers, but his confidence grew with every

event he attended. One turning point was the Trailblazer event, where Nathan learned to make mocktails and took part in an AI workshop, picking up new skills for future job applications.

Nathan’s hard work paid off: he completed his SIA course and landed an interview. Even though he didn’t get the job, he hasn’t let it slow him down. Nathan continues applying for roles with a positive mindset, and his resilience is taking him closer to his goals every day.

Next Steps

We are supporting Nathan as we search for paid work experience opportunities together. We’ll continue applying for jobs and exploring new pathways to help Nathan move closer to his career goals one step at a time. He has come so far on this journey, and we have seen such a transformation.
