Nicola's Story

Nicola's Background

Nicola joined the Youth Hub in August 2025. Nicola had prior experience in bar work and was now seeking work in a hospitality or retail setting.
Nicola needed support with her Job searching, CV and confidence in finding work.

First Steps

We discussed Nicola's goals moving forward and her previous experience. We updated Nicola's CV to reflect her skills and experience.

Whilst on our Programme

When Nicola joined the Youth Hub, she was open about the challenges she faced in finding employment. We worked with Nicola to update her CV and focus on identifying and successfully completing applications online.

Nicola was open-minded and took any opportunities available. We were able to refer Nicola to an M&S open day with the King's Trust, Nando's open day and Knowsley Safari open day.

Nicola was invited to an interview for Ivy Asia, where we worked on her interview skills and preparation for this.

Nicola was interested in a SWAP through the job centre with the Premier Inn - Nicola completed 2 weeks of training and then was invited in for an interview.

Nicola was successful and offered a role with the Premier Inn, which she started in January!

Next Steps

Nicola is continuing to work part-time at the Premier Inn which she is enjoying.
