Ross' Story

Ross' Background

Ross joined the Youth Hub in May 2025. He has a great passion for working in the forces, but was unclear in which area. He needed a job and to upskill his IT.

First Steps

When Ross joined the Youth Hub, he was unsure about what path he wanted to take with the military. We were able to direct him to some sites to do more research and talk to him about the different areas they have in the military, as we had previous knowledge, having known people who work there.

Whilst on our Programme

Ross joined the Youth Hub in May 2025. He was unsure in which area or industry he wanted to work. We were able to work with Ross, ask him questions to help him get the right answers, and understand what area he wants to work in.

He went to Manchester to visit the IT department in the military. We referred Ross onto a course so he could get some IT qualifications.

He passed all and is now qualified in:

• Level 2 Digital IT Skills

• Level 1 Contact Centre Operations

• Level 1 Cyber Security

 We worked with him to update his CV and send it out to employers. Not long after this, he gained employment in a warehouse for B&M.

Next Steps

He will also be completing his application for the IT area in the military, as the next intake will be in September 2026.
