Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG)
We deliver Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) services to NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) young people, including those aged 16–25 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Our services are individually tailored to meet the specific needs of each young person, including those requiring additional support. They are designed to help participants identify and access appropriate education, training, or employment pathways, with a strong emphasis on personalised support and progression.
As the Youth Hub provider for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in South Liverpool, we offer targeted IAG services for NEET young people in the area. This includes intensive one-to-one support and direct links into employment and training providers.
Our Approach to How We Deliver IAG
We are committed to delivering a high-quality, person-centred approach that supports sustained progression into Education, Employment, or Training (EET). Our model is built around the individual, ensuring that every young person receives tailored support aligned with their needs, strengths, and aspirations.
Key Elements of Our Approach:
- Initial Assessment & Personalised Planning
Each young person begins their journey with a comprehensive initial assessment to identify their interests, barriers, and motivations. From this, a personalised action plan is co-created, setting clear, achievable goals and outlining the steps required to reach them.
- Inclusive, Strengths-Based Guidance
Our trained advisors provide inclusive, strengths-based Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG), promoting confidence and self-awareness. They work in partnership with young people, their families, and where applicable EHCP coordinators and wider support networks to ensure consistency and wraparound support.
- Integrated Support Network
We maintain strong partnerships with local education providers, training organisations, employers, and community services. This network allows us to offer a wide range of progression opportunities, from college places to supported internships, apprenticeships, and tailored work placements.
- Regular Reviews & Responsive Support
Progress is reviewed frequently, with support adapted as needed to maintain engagement and momentum. We respond flexibly to changes in circumstances or motivation, ensuring that no young person becomes disengaged or unsupported.
- Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
Our IAG delivery is underpinned by ongoing quality assurance, regular feedback from young people, and measurable outcomes. We monitor the impact of our support to ensure continuous improvement and that our practice remains effective, person-centred, and outcome-focused.
This approach ensures that each young person is empowered to make informed decisions and take confident steps toward a positive and sustainable destination in education, employment, or training.
